Kellie The Eagle
Kellie The Eagle describes her music as 'Electro-folk-pop'.A mix of heavy insistent drumloops and beguiling harmonies, her music is simple and to the point. She uses an 80's yamaha keyboard, Qchord and various percussion instruments.Kellie lives in Norwich and having been in and around various bands/projects for a few years before she decided to go it alone, making the music she wanted to make in her own way.
What emerged was a contradictory mix of folk influenced, electro-pop with a selection of impossible-to-ignore beats driving it all along. Lyrically it has been rather dark (sometimes nonsensical) and tells of ladies kidnapping lovers to hide in boxes ('Coqcinelle') or, in the song 'Lupine man', another lady falls in love with a wolf!.
Somewhat technically inept by her own admission, she maintains that being a touch restricted has presented her with a rather unique sound.
Judge for yourself...
Her influences include *Prince, Peaches, Kate Bush, Tom Waits, Sandy Dillon, Missy Elliot, PJ Harvey...
